Composer / Arranger / Piano / Keyboard A resident pianist with Dama Orchestra, Fung Chiat was awarded the PhD in Performance Practice from the University of Sheffield, England. She received her Master in Music from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, University of Wales; her Bachelors in Music from University Putra Malaysia and her FTCL from Trinity College of Music, all in piano performance. While in the UK, she did a UK Piano Recital Tour in 1998 and performed in The Millenium Concert 2000. She is a recipient of numerous awards, including Best All-Round Musician Challenge Trophy in Cardiff for 2000 and 2001. Her accomplished performances were featured by the media. Fung Chiat has over 15 years of music teaching experience and is currently lecturing at University Putra Malaysia. She has a very keen interest in clarinet as well and holds a Performance Certificate for the instrument. Fung Chiat takes a very active interest in music research, composition, arrangement and performances.
