Ever since the presentation of the commissioned concert “Bridges É Between Distant Hearts” at the Sunrise Arts Fest in 1999, Dama has been expanding their repertoire to music from around the world. The Orchestra's exploratory musical works have been showcased at the Kuching Rainforest World Music Festival, Kota Kinabalu Alamesra Arts Heritage and WOMAD Singapore. This "Earthbound" concert was a natural progression of Dama's musical sojourn.

These music and songs performed in the concert were in the best tradition of folk songs, art songs, contemporary songs and musicals. Some of these tunes are familiar, some not; but whichever the case, they were performed with the distinctive, endearing and vibrant music of Dama.

The tunes were given a workover by Dama and readapted for the interpretation of Chinese musical instruments. The programme featured the yangqin (Chinese Dulcimer) in “Ballade Pour Adeline”, erhu (Chinese violin) in “Si Xiang Qu”, the dizi (Chinese flute) in “El Condo Pasa”, etc. The repertoire also featured vocal presentations; they included Der “Holle Rache Kocht” (a famous soprano opera aria from Mozart's Magic Flute), an “All I Ask of You” duet (from musical Phantom of the Opera) and “Engkau Laksana Bulan” (a song made famous by Tan Sri P. Ramlee).
