Phoon Sook Peng   soprano

Phoon Sook Peng studied at Trinity College of Music, London, under Ms Elizabeth Hawes. After obtaining her certificate in teaching and vocal performance, she furthered her studies on opera at the Royal Conservatorium in The Hague with Woul Oosterkamp and subsequently at the Hochschule fur Musik in Dresden with Professor Christian Elssner. She later based herself in the Netherlands, where she was associated with the Netherlands Opera. While abroad, Sook Peng taught voice and piano, and participated in numerous Dutch Radio Choir projects, including the opening of Amsterdam Arena and the prestigious Prinsengracght Concert. She returned to Malaysia in 2000 and worked with Dama on several projects, including the Spring Kisses Lover’s Tears album.
