Dama celebrated the debut solo recital of soprano Tan Soo Suan with a repertoire of her favourite Chinese golden oldies and folk songs, which included evergreens like A Little Flower, My Serenade To You, Does He Know, My Faithful Heart, Jiu Li Li, Without You and Carmen.

Contrary to popular belief that shi dai qu (Chinese golden oldies) were sung by matured singers, many of the songstresses who emerged onto the scene during that period were in fact in their twenties. In the concerts, the highly talented twenty-something Soo Suan and Dama, together with guest pianists Khaw Liang En and Chong Kok Ting, presented an extremely versatile and demanding programme with styles ranging from the lyrical singing of “Why Didn't We Meet Earlier?” by Li Xiang Lan to the laid back alto vocalisation of “Without You” by Bai Guang and the dramatic presentation of “Carmen” by Ge Lan. In all, the Songs-In-Me concert features diverse hits of 12 songstresses from that golden era of the 30s-60s.

Soo Suan was crowned the Grand Champion of Malaysia Classical Singing Competition (MCSC) in 1998 after winning the competition over three consecutive years. She is one of the only two sopranos with such a distinction since the establishment of MCSC in 1975.
