Fung Ying started her music lesson at 4. After having obtained her Fellowship and Bachelor of Music in piano performance, she furthered her music study at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and received her Master of Music in Piano Performance, with distinction. While abroad, Fung Ying performed in numerous charity concerts - including the Macmillan Cancer fund raising drive - and at concert halls such as St. Martin-in-the-Field and St. John Smith’s Square. A recipient of several awards - including the first prize in the prestigious Jacobson Piano Competition and the Grindea Award for Best Pianist 2002 - Fung Ying enjoyed extensive performing and teaching experience, and has been invited to do television broadcast and recording in the UK. Besides performing, she enjoys arranging and composing music works for Dama and has assisted with the album production of Fragrance of the Night. Fung Ying is currently doing her doctorate in music at the University of Sheffield.
